Apostle Lincoln Robinson

January 29th, 2007 - Isaiah 54:17

What a mighty promise we have from the Lord and many of us repeat it over and over to affirm our faith in God's mighty promise to us and to reassure ourselves that nothing negative will prosper against us. We need to examine this verse more carefully so as to determine whether we are experiencing all that God meant for us. We note that this promise is the heritage of the servants of the Lord.

This promise is ours because we have been born again by the Spirit and the blood of Jesus. We have become servants of the living God when we invited Him into our lives and called Him Lord. His Lordship over our lives means that He has the right to tell us what to do and where to go. But do we truly allow Him to be Lord over our lives? Is He only Lord when we get into difficulty by not seeking His direction for our daily lives? Through our own doings, we usually miss His will and end up being kicked by the devil.

We note also that our righteousness is of the Lord. The Bible says that our own righteousness is as filthy rags before Him. We need to seek after righteousness of the Lord daily so that this promise will be manifested in our lives. We will only be fooling ourselves if we are not seeking to live in righteousness as His promise cannot work towards us if we do not. Our confession of this verse still will not cause the promise to work towards us if we are not serving the Lord in righteousness. The challenge is to serve Him and to seek after His righteousness for this verse to prosper in our lives. Will we do it today so that this promise becomes a reality in our daily lives?

  • Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
